Parking: There is an accessible spot when entering Peakes Quay on Great George Street, opposite to Island Beach Co./Billy Timber ice cream. There is also accessible parking available in the parking lot next to Peakes Quay called Confederation Landing Parking Lot, entry from Prince Street.

Entry and Maneuvering Room: Almost all of the businesses have metal ramps for entry, some have wooden ramps with a small lip (How Bazaar, Tidewater Merchants, Funnels & More, Red Dirt Shirt, Beaver Tails). They are almost all smaller sized, some have more maneuvering room than others, but they are all generally accessible.

Washrooms: There is one accessible washroom at ground level next to Beaver Tails.

Entrance: There is no automatic door opener.

Maneuvering room: It is a smaller but sufficient size. The sink, soap dispenser and hand dryer are a bit high, and there is a small mirror that is at a good height.

Seating: There are a few accessible picnic tables in the centre of Peakes Quay, as well as by the How Bazaar store.

Floating Dock Restaurants:

Entrance: Steep ramp to access the floating dock.

Seating: Picnic tables, accessible seating from the side of a picnic table. All of the restaurant’s counters are bar-height without table service.

Maneuvering Room: Quite narrow and tight, not much maneuvering room.

Peakes Quay Restaurant:

Doors: Elevator access to the rooftop-restaurant.

Seating: There is seating available by removing a chair from one of the tables.

Maneuvering Room: Sufficient.

Billy Timber (Inside of Island Beach Company)

Doors: Wide entrance, ramp, doors left open.

Maneuvering Room: There is a good amount of room around the counter, and the counter is accessible to pay at.

Cow’s Ice Cream

Doors: Wide entrance, doors are typically left open.

Maneuvering Room: The ice cream counter and retail counter are accessible. The counter to pay at both are accessible. The retail space is narrow, and displays are close together, not easily accessible.

The Kettle Black

Doors: Automatic door button does not function at time of review. Doorway is wide enough, but the door is heavy. Small lip on doorway.

Washrooms: Accessible washrooms available, however the pathway to get to the washrooms is narrow, and there is no automatic door button.

Seating: Yes: there are tables that can be converted to be accessible by removing a chair. No designated accessible seating.

Stairs: No.

Maneuvering Room: Sufficient. The counter to pay is accessible, but the side counter to pick up your order is high, and that side of the counter has little room to move around. If dining in, you can order and have your food & drink brought to your table, but payment is at the counter only.

Doors: Two doors at entrance, both have automatic door openers. The outside door is a suitable size; however, the inside door is narrow (88cm wide). Small lip on outer door.

Washrooms: Gender-neutral accessible washroom available, small lip upon entrance, suitable size. There is a door to access the hallway of washrooms that does not have an automatic opener. (They are still under construction, there may be one to come.)
